About
All "coffee bags" are made from coffee bags, which we are looking for at auctions, flea markets and coffee shops in various countries and cities. The idea of the bags is based on the original prints that were on the bags of coffee.
Why coffee bags? First, burlap is amazing stuff. Textured, stylish, pleasant to the touch. Coffee bags from different countries are decorated with bright prints in the style of the places where they came from. Giraffes and elephants on bags from Kenya, breeding masks on bags from Honduras, hummingbirds on bags from El Salvador, crocodiles from Nicaragua, parrots from Costa Rica! Then, on travel bags, travel stamps of seaports and train stations are often stored. Arrived from Ecuador, sent to California ... Each bag is like a travel story. We try to keep these travel labels in bag designs. Thirdly, burlap and jute are very eco-friendly materials, fully biodegradable. Bags of burlap and jute do not harm the environment.
When creating bags, we combine burlap with other natural materials. An important condition of our workshop is that we never use materials of animal origin. Sometimes, of course, orders are received with a request to make pens or a pocket of genuine leather. In this case, we do not just refuse to cooperate, but try to talk to the customer - to talk about our principles, to explain why we are deliberately not working with such materials. It is important for us not only to say that “skin is unethical”, but also to offer people an alternative. Bags that would be stitched without cruelty, but at the same time were comfortable, reliable, beautiful. Actually, for this we started our project - the copyright eco-bags store “Coffee Means”.
